THE NIGHT OF DECREE RAMADHAN 1444AH – 2023
QURAN – SURAH AL-QADR (97) (THE NIGHT OF DECREE)
- Verily! We have sent it (this Qur’an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)
- And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is?
- The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months).
- Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allah’s Permission with all Decrees,
- Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.
Aisha R.D reports that Rasulullah S.A.W said: “Search for the Night of Qadr (*Laylatul Qadr*) in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan.” (Sahih Bukhari)
Abu Huraira R.D. narrates Prophet Muhammad S.A.W said, “Whoever fasted the month of Ramadhan out if sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.” (Sahih Bukhari)
The rewards for worship and charitable giving in one of these nights is equivalent to the reward for one thousand months!
In the night of Qadr, please do as much ibadat prayers as possible, read as much Quran, Dhikr, forgive each other, please make plenty of Duas for all of us and for all the oppressed people around the world, and please give as much donations in charity as possible to help the orphans, widows, displaced, refugees, hospitals and most needy, as everything will be multiplied by a thousand months, especially on the last 10 odd nights of Ramadhan.
