PAKISTAN ORPHANS SPONSORSHIP APPEAL
ORPHAN (YATEEM)
The meaning of an Orphan (Yateem) is a child who has lost his father or both his parents before the age of maturity
Allah S.W.T says in the Quran: Surah al Baqarah
Verse 215. They ask you (O Muhammad S.A.W) what they should spend. Say: Whatever you spend of good must be for parents and kindred and orphans and Al-Masakin (the poor) and the wayfarers, and whatever you do of good deeds, truly, Allah knows it well.
Prophet Muhammad S.A.W said ‘I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this’, (putting his index and middle fingers together)- Sahih al Bukhari.
Madrassah Darul Uloom Fathiyyah is located in the disadvantaged area on the outskirts of Karachi. The land for this madrassah was bought by a family in the U.K. and was specifically chosen and established in this particular disadvantaged area in order to make arrangements for the lack of Islamic education and for the safety of the growing number of orphan and most needy children roaming the streets.
These innocent orphan and most needy children had no access to water, clothing, medical care or any form of education. 79 orphan and most needy children now reside in the madrassah and have full access to all facilities available, including weekly expenditure.
Up until now the family that purchased and established the Madrassah/Orphanage have raised funds and taken it upon themselves to ensure that the children are given the best possible care.
Recently 10 of these children have completed the Hifz memorisation of the Holy Quran and many more are studying to complete their Islamic education.
With the help of donors the madrassah will have consistent funds to assist and provide for the essential needs of these children on a long-term basis.
