TURKIYE AND SYRIA EMERGENCY EARTHQUAKE APPEAL 2023

Over 50,000 people killed and thousands injured in Southern Turkiye and Northern Syria, and thousands buried alive under rubble

The worst earthquake in over a century has struck Southern Turkiye near the Syrian border, killing over 50,000 people and injuring thousands, but there are warnings the death toll could continue to surge. Thousands of people remain trapped beneath the rubble in Southern Turkiye and Northern Syria.

The first 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Gaziantep in the early hours of Monday 6th Feb, followed by a 7.5-magnitude earthquake hours later.

Hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, already struggling for survival amidst a bitter winter, have been impacted and 1.5 million people in Turkiye and Syria have been left homeless.

World Aid Convoy team is on the ground in Turkiye and Syria, helping the most needy and saving lives.

Abu Hurayrah R.D. narrates Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. said “Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah S.W.T will remove from him one of the grievances of the Day of Qiyamah. Whosoever alleviates the needs of a needy person, Allah S.W.T will alleviate his needs in this world and the next. Whosoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah S.W.T will conceal his faults in this world and the next. Allah S.W.T will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother.” (Sahih Muslim)
